LFRP New Show Design

July 7, 2020 By Tarcanus

Greetings fellow role players and creative writers!

If you are reading this, we are both amazed and beyond thankful that you have stuck with us for this many years. We can hardly believe that nearly half of a decade has gone by since we last published an episode of our beloved show.

As promised, this summer will mark the beginning of a new journey for all of us at the podcast, which means that we will indeed be recording and publishing new episodes for all of you to download and digest quite soon.

For those of you who listened to our older episodes, we want to let you know that our new podcast design will be quite different than what you might have been accustomed to in the past. The world of creative writing, role play, gaming and beyond has changed significantly since 2016 and we cannot in good conscious ignore everything that is currently going on around us. It is all of our duties to try and create a better world around us and to call out to the world when injustice occurs (even within our own community).

We will also be broadening our scope of the show to include all forms of creative writing and role play, including live action role play, other MMORPGs, tabletop games, professional fiction and non-fiction writing, professional theater, television and cinema writing, production and acting and much more.

If you are looking for a podcast specifically related to role play in World of Warcraft (and World of Warcraft in general), you may wish to check out the following podcast:

Azeroth Trade Federation

With that said, World of Warcraft will never be ignored on the LFRP Podcast and we will still talk about our in-game Warcraft characters and writing every week.

Again, we cannot thank you enough for your support over the years and we hope that you enjoy our latest version of Looking for Role Play as well!

Stay tuned for specific links to our new show as we publish our new episodes.

Cheers, and of course…

Be safe, wherever you may be in the world.

LFRP Podcast Returns (We Mean It This Time!)

March 7, 2020 By Tarcanus

So… we know that we told you last year that the podcast would be returning in early 2019.

However! This year, we will actually be returning in the summer of 2020!

Tarcanus needs to get a new computer and set up a new streaming/recording studio. He also needs to dust off the old recording hardware and reeducate himself on how to write, edit, format, store, produce and publish a podcast (hey, it’s been over five years, okay?).

Tarcanus is five years behind on the latest and greatest blogging, writing and gaming tools (Tumblr still exists, apparently!) as well.

But hey, if any of you have actually waited around for the past five years and are still reading these update posts, then what’s another few months to wait for more LFRP action!?

Thank you all, though. We really mean it. We look back fondly on all the memories of podcasting days past and look forward to bringing you more content and starting new adventures in the near future!

Hope you are all doing great, and as always, be safe wherever you may be in the world.

LFRP Returns January 2019!

December 2, 2018 By Tarcanus

Well hello, everybody!

I hope that you all have had a great past few years. I know that I have had quite the adventure in life. Luckily, all things have worked out for the best and I am back and better than ever in the World of Warcraft and on the Interwebs.

For those of you who have been wondering where we all went, please know that real life had swept in like hurricane over the past two years and I got tossed around like crazy. I moved back to California for a few months (it was supposed to be permanent) beginning in 2017, got a second Bachelor’s degree, re-certified myself in the travel industry and then was informed that the doctors out there believed I had cancer.

To spare you all the details and specifics, I shall simply state that those of you who know me have long known that I suffer from ankle pain and that my ankles are very easy to injure/swell/bleed. Out in California, the doctors performed an MRI and found an irregular tissue growth and arthritis in my right ankle joint. While the abnormal tissue growth could be consistent with many things from PVNS to cancer to other conditions, the fact that my ALG/AST levels, blood pressure, uric acid levels, and white blood cell counts were all off the doctors concluded that I had a very high likelihood of having cancer. Thus, I had to move back to New Jersey (moving across the country twice in three months is NOT fun, especially given the circumstances that the second move was under) and seek out more answers from my doctors back home.

Luckily, I found out that I did not have cancer and that I had long been suffering from chronic tophaceous gout, high blood pressure and the early warning stages of Diabetes. From that point forward, I had to change the way I ate (believe me, a low-purine, low-calorie, low-sugar, low-sodium, low-fat diet can be hard to construct and execute) and start exercising regularly. Two years later, I have dropped about sixty pounds and my A1C (blood sugar) is back within a healthy range. My cholesterol and overall weight could still come down, but my blood pressure, uric acid levels, and gout attacks are normal or do not occur anymore and I do not have ankle pain like I did in the past.

Throughout this entire process, I never felt as though the end was coming (or anything so dramatic) and even when the doctors said that I might have cancer, I really never let it get me down. If anything, it was a wake-up call to stop eating and drinking things that I could drink when I was a kid that my body could no longer process as well. Today, I feel better than ever and the time that used to be taken away from activities due to my ankle pain is now my own again.

All of this is to say that life is awesome and you should enjoy and appreciate the time that you do have while also attempting to make the most out of what you eat, drink, do and experience.

But I have digressed long enough!

Now that things have normalized again, it is time that this old podcast gets a reboot so that we can all go back to doing the things that we enjoy. I am aiming to have episodes up and running by the end of January (although hopefully I can start by mid-January).

Until then, there are a few housekeeping notes that I think need to be addressed:

1.) All of the old episodes of the LFRP Podcast are lost into the void. My old laptop died, our podcast storage went into the nether and I forgot to update the credit card expiration date on our show host’s billing system so we lost the archive located there as well. I know, bad Tarcanus.

2.) None of the old iTunes (now Apple Music/Podcasts), Stitcher and TuneIn links no longer work. As I find new storage and hosting, I will  have to update the show information and all the links located on this website and our other pages.

3.) This website will be updated shortly (well, “shortly” being a relative term) with the latest information about the show. Come back and stay tuned for the latest information.

4.) The show is not currently looking for hosts, advertisers or vendors at the moment. Thank you for your interest but just getting the show up and running is the most important thing right now.

5.) I forgot how to use Tumblr since I have not used the platform for almost three years. So, the LFRP Podcast Tumblr may not be the best place to find the latest information on the show.

But yes, as more information becomes available, I shall share it here with you all. Thank you for your continued support and interest in the show and your personal messages, phone calls and support over the past two years.

Take care and of course… be safe, wherever you may be in the world!
